* IRS released  Form W-4 for 2018 on 2/2/18 with a calculator tool to help complete the form. Employers should instruct their employees to review their withholidngs based on this updated information and complete an updated Form W-4. Any changes to Forms W-4 should be submitted to your Account Representative at Media to be implemented through payroll. For more information, please read the IRS press release and frequently asked questions at irs.gov.

The Federal goverment through The Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires employers to provide information to all of their employees (both full- and part-time) about the availability of the Health Insurance Marketplace. Hired employees must be given the information no later than 14 days after their date of hire. To satisfy the content requirements for this disclosure, model language is available on the Department of Labor’s website www.dol.gov/ebsa/healthreform.  There is one model for employers who offer a health plan and another model for employers who do not offer a health plan.  Employers may use one of these models, as applicable, or a modified version, provided the notice meets the content requirements described above.

The State of New Jersey requires employers to give written notification to potentially eligible employees of the availability of both the federal and New Jersey state earned income credits when the employer gives the employee the statement of wages (W2).
